I believe patriotism to be one of those words that you cannot stop at knowing the mer definition of patriotism isn’t something you know or read about it is something that you must feel a word that engulfs your entire being and forces you to live you a certain way based on hundreds of years of the past. one of those words that you must feel it must engulf your entire being in order for it to gave real meaning to oneself he is probably best renumbered fir his purported last words before being hanged i only regret that i have but one life to give for my country hale has long been considered an american hero and in 1985 he was officially designated the state hero of connecticut i pledge allegiance… patriotism the word alone conjures up heroic images of troops fighting for freedom martin luther king jr speaking for civil rights and george washington crossing the delaware i am proud of my country and all that it stands for i am fortunate to have been born here in this land of freedom where with hard work you can accomplish your dreams here you can be whatever you want a doctor a firefighter or a salesman you have the freedom of choice john f kenned said ask not… i think this statement is an integral part of what patriotism truly means patriotism is not sitting back and complaining when taxes are raised or a new law is passed it is working together to make our country a better place for future generations part of this is voting a privilege and responsibility it is our duty to choose who we want leading our country being a patriot in our democratic society is standing by your country but not blindly following its government by voting we ensure that america remains in capable hands most of all patriotism is loving your country this means that you are loyal and faithful to it and proud of everything it has accomplished the ultimate example of this is nathan hale after he was caught spying by the british during the revolutionary war hale was sentenced to death when asked if he had any last words… his example of loyalty to his country even in the face of death still inspires americas today so what does patriotism mean to me patriotism is that feeling of loyalty and pride when i see a fluttering flag or hear the national anthem patriotism is loving my country supporting it and striving to make it a more perfect union it is up to s the citizens of this great country to ensure it continues to stand for justice equality and freedom for all. i believe the old patriotism is a word that you cannot describe with only on e word. patriotism isn’t something you know or read about but its is a feeling that can describe itself in many different ways you can feel patriotic but not really know what it means it is a word that can change he way you feel about your country and yourself i pledge allegiance… was written by francis bellamy in 1892 although it has had many versions it has always had the same meaning to think that patriotism can be summed up in one sentence seems unusual. True patriotism means many different things to me than just caring and respecting other people. It means to be proud of your country, obeying the law, displaying the american flag, voting, celebrating national holidays, and being involved in the protection of all our freedoms no matter what one’s nationality is. it is respectable to demonstrate patriotism but not only in times when our freedom is threatened, when doing so, this shows that we are united as one when we are threatened against one’s enemies foreign or domestic. bekuevubg and trusting on one’s country can help people feel protected and safe in their homes especially in times of need. when we show our patriotism it gives encouragement to our troops and our military forces or becoming a politician, it can be as simple as donating items for military care packages, thanking a veteran for his or her sevice, or even writing letters to your local ongessman. we can all show Patriotism in different ways. I ask you “What is Patriotism to You? Do you believe in the loe for your country? All the soldiers and heroes that are out there in the world fighting for our freedom? The respect and the courage that you may have. Patriotism is like an infection that travels around from one body to another and you can’t cure i with and medication. To me patriotism basically means the love and care for one’s country. Although it may have other definitions, the real and main one is ‘the love and devotion for your country”. Being patriotic means not only wearing the flag as a pin, putting ut up on your yard or saying the national anthem like most people do, It really means caring for the soldiers and everyone that helps the country be free, also to give out your love and potential to your country.
There are a lot of examples and symbols that patriotism can mean to me or to anyone in this world. For example, September 11, the United States flag, the Statue of Liberty and many more are symbols of patriotism. I think that patriotism has grown more since 9/11 the day that changed the word, and that it is going to keep on growing more and more thought the years to come. A married couple is like patriotism because they can’t decide on the right choice or also like each other about how they are. Martin Luther King Jr. had the courage to lead a movement against segregation he also had the courage to tell us what was wrong and what we did right. To me that is real patriotism because he was willing to fight for our country and love it equally among others. “If we love our country, we should also love our countrymen” is a famous quote by Ronald Reagan that I think describes patriotism because it simply means love one another equally. So to me patriotism means the lovefor your country, it also means many other different things to one another. Remember you can be patriotic if you love and respect your country by must basically caring. Patriotism is the love and loyalty to one’s country. Patriotism is like a seed you are born with and it blossoms as you grow and mature. There are many ways to show Patriotism like joi8ning the military, running for President, or even just saying the pledge of allegiance every morning. In my opinion, no one exemplifies what Patriotism means more than our former President’s. One of our most admirable founding fathers and President’s was George Washington. He was the first President of the United States and the commander-in-chief of the continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Another great leader and former President was Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was the 34th Presidentt of the United States from 1953 until 1961. Eisenhower was a general in the United States Army during World War ii and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in U.S. history. I chose these two outstanding Presidents because they demonstrate patriotism by serving as role models and leaders who were willing to currently serving in the armed forces. In short, Patriotism is in my heart, as well was the hearts of all Americans and many of the great historical figures past and present. As stated by Dwight D. Eisenhower, “there is nothing wrong with America that the faith, love of freedom, intelligence and energy of her citizens cannot cure.” Dwight D. Eisenhower and George Washington were two examples of the many great American historical figures that have shown patriotic acts throughout their lives.
