Management skills is the practice of understanding, developing and deploying people and their skills. Well-implemented skills management should identify the skills that job roles require, the skills of individual employees, and any gap between the two.

At the First, we should know that there are six types of skills of management which are as follows: Planning for business. Planning is the first step of Management skill. It means to plan how to run the organization, how to utilize the resources of an organization. Without planning we can not run any organization. The other types is : Organizing, Staffing, Directing, Co Ordinating, Reporting. Secondly, the Successful Manager needs to have extensive skills beyond project management expertise, to also include experience in coaching, leadership, motivation, team building, negotiation, decision making, conflict management, and much more! The third part is the manager’s level in the organization which determines the relative importance of possessing technical, human, and conceptual skill is. Top level managers need conceptual skills that let them view the organization. Conceptual skills are used in planning and dealing with ideas and abstractions. Supervisors need technical skills to manage their area of specialty. All levels of management need human skills, so they can interact and communicate with other people successfully.

The forth skill a manager should have is the ability to Technically Understanding the Project and Process. A Success Manager can only proactively understand the status of a project and influence change when the individual truly understands the underlying technologies and common successful process of a project. If the PM depends on information from others, but they don’t get a straight answer, the PM is always one or two steps behind. By having technical knowledge and/or prior direct knowledge and experience how a similar project is managed, the SM knows firsthand when something is “not quite right” and can start the proactive process of fixing things before they are broken.

The last but not least, the manager should be able to: Collaboratively Driving Success as with any successful leadership role, the leader can only lead when they command respect and can influence change. Relationship building is a CORE skill and an important role that the Success Manager needs to establish early on to help ensure a project and process flow smoothly as expected!
