There are many types of music therapy for different needs. The first one is called the Bonny Method Imagery and Music. A therapist named Helen Lindquist created this therapy that includes pictures and music. It is meant to help people with problems that are both physical and mental. She started this therapy with pictures, but noticed that it works better with music too. The next type of music therapy is called Dalcroze Eurythmics. This was created by Émile Jaques-Dalcroze. This isn’t meant for mental problems, only physical. The next music therapy is called Kodaly. The person who created this therapy’s name is Zoltán Kodály. This type helps with literacy skills. The next one is called the Neurological Therapy. Most people know it as NMT, and this is created from neuroscience. This helps with the brain. The next type is called the Nordoff-Robbins music therapy. Paul Nordoff and Clive Robbins both created this therapy together. They studied music therapy together for as long as 2 decades. They had trial therapy sessions with mostly autistic kids, kids with mental disorders, emotional disturbances, and with developmental delays. They also wrote books about music therapy for children. The last one is called the Orff-Schulwerk therapy. This type was created by Gertrud Orff. She created it because medicine didn’t help enough to as far as she wanted. This one is meant for children with disabilities and delays also.
